Smart Emergency Lighting

Emergency lighting compliance is obviously important and current methods often involve manual processes, sub contractors and hit and miss paperwork (that then needs to be checked by someone else within your organisation). It could all be done automatically which would save considerable time and money but also ensure real, ongoing compliance.

Our solutions also provide so much more as they can tailor how tests are undertaken (when, how and why?) so are perfect for public buildings, factories and production facilities who keep long hours. We can also monitor battery performance in each fixture and run predictive maintenance evaluations on an ongoing basis. With less wiring they are also quicker and easier to deploy/redeploy after retrofit so use less labour and material resources.
With a full range of emergency lighting products we have options for any commercial or industrial specification and even have retrofit kits that can turn any LED fixture into an emergency lighting fitting.
Our solutions can be run as on-premise only (for high security estates or buildings) or as cloud control options.
We also have solutions for other smart lighting that include all indoor and outdoor applications for control and colour control options.
The Problem
We bring experience and technology to an age old industry problem. The installation, control, checks and service of Emergency Lighting services traditionally has been labour intensive, poorly recorded and very reactive. Often using proprietary systems and working with huge corporations that are only interested in driving customers down a one way, dead end street, it quickly gets expensive. No warranty if you use products from ‘others’ and zero support unless you follow the ‘rules’. When you finally can’t
take any more and want to break free and try a different solution provider you might literally have a pile of parts that are useless in any other system.

We use DALI (or Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) as the backbone for compliant lighting controls, meaning the latest standards of an open protocol, non proprietary system. The modularity of DALI allows for cost effective and compliant design of any size installation and allows use of ANY certified product to build almost limitless systems. Our mantra is that installers and users should use best in class products from ANY manufacturer and with the importance of lighting, this is key. Systems can be deployed as wired, wireless or hybrid. These can operate independently and locally while internet access allows for cloud services providing security, back up, remote access and of course, 24/7 monitoring. As a safety critical system, under any kind of fault condition, the connected system operates locally, in the absence of internet connectivity however, this can also be supported with cellular fall back.

Created with reliability at the heart of the system
• Open protocol
• Cost effective at CAPEX and/or OPEX stage and providing ongoing savings
• Fully automated testing and record keeping including proactive management
• Wired, wireless or hybrid systems to suit any application
• Safe, certified and secure critical systems
• Remote monitoring, interrogation and commissioning (with Cloud)
• Simplified commissioning (with Cloud)
• More flexible, less wires, perfect for heritage use or adaptable spaces
• BMS system capable via most known interfaces
• Compliance with the latest European Standards including IS3217 and EN62034.

System Overview
Our DALI controllers are the gateways into the emergency lighting system. They are responsible for control and communication to their attached devices (max. 128 per controller). Each controller can operate independently and locally to perform tests, functions and reporting etc. However, connection to the cloud (or an edge server) allows for aggregation of all these parameters and more. In networked configuration, you can connect as many of the controllers as you like under a single user profile, even under multi site tenancies.
All safety critical elements are recorded and flexible testing patterns minimise disruption
and negate human intervention unless needed. Proactive safety systems such as ours can monitor battery health for planned replacements and send messages or reports to key personnel among other things.
Cloud connected systems are more flexible and adaptable, offering complete asset view, controls and reporting, simplified commissioning through various intuitive methods, easy of integration to other systems and an array of user tools to allow you get the best value and performance from your deployment.
The physical element of the system, hardware is the tangible components and devices
that make up your IoT infrastructure and are paramount to the overall performance of
the system. For emergency lighting, this is no different.
AssetBook’s offer one of the most extensive ranges of best in class hardware for
emergency lighting requirements with full customisation options. If what you need doesn’t  already exist, we can create it to exacting specification.

The wider solution – All assets in one pane of glass view
The total AssetBook is all about connectivity, innovation and interoperability. We use non proprietary, industry respected protocols so our users can select best in class devices from any manufacturer or product basket. We support multiple transmission layers so we can build the very best system for you by selecting from the very best hardware. If the hardware you need does not exist, we build it ourselves (using our decades of electronics experience). Whatever building blocks you need, we have an extensive selection that can be used together to create standard, unique and brilliant solutions.
But  if you decide further down the line you want to change to a new solutions provider or system, no problem at all as you have an ecosystem of industry standard hardware equipment that can be re-purposed without issue.

What is the obsession with smart?
Without doubt, buildings, warehouses, and spaces must continue to get smarter (for so many reasons) and so our approach must follow. From office spaces for employees to places for paying customers to enjoy, building intelligence has never been more important. Smart can deliver ease, speed, efficiency and safety to occupants and owners. It can deliver actionable insights for all operations and expose untapped OpEx savings. Smart can even unlock new, previously inaccessible business models.  Access to these benefits needs to be delivered in a smart way too, with lower cost, speedy deployment strategies and in-built scalability to deliver immediate and ongoing benefits. When done correctly, smart can be the gift that just keeps on giving.
